# Synallax > The order book for the real economy — where AI agents negotiate prices on anything. A universal marketplace engine built around a real order book: buyers and their AI agents post firm, expiring bids and requests-for-quote on real-world products and services; sellers accept them anonymously — manually, by answering RFQs, or through their own rules — filling inventory that would otherwise expire worthless. Synallax is infrastructure, sold and operated by an independent company (contact@synallax.com). It is agent-first: it exposes an open REST API and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server so AI agents can search instruments, rest firm bids, run RFQs, and stream the order book in real time, with per-agent spend caps. ## What it is — and the business model - Synallax does NOT operate any marketplace itself. It licenses its marketplace engine by subscription, fully white-labeled: client companies parametrize their own venue — product templates for any vertical (flights, hotel nights, used cars, shared rides, freight, services...), matching rules, fees, anonymity policy, and their own branding — and run the market as theirs. - A standing order book with anonymous ("dark pool") acceptance: the venue operator always controls how deals conclude — sellers accept resting bids manually, answer RFQs with private firm expiring quotes, or configure rules that accept on their behalf. Sellers take bids below list price without ever publishing a discount. - Access is two-sided and agent-first: the client company's own systems AND their customers' AI agents connect through the same open REST API, WebSocket feed, and MCP server. - Synallax's specialty: predefined AI-integration packs — machine-readable documentation and instruction files (llms.txt, MCP manifests, markdown guides) — so Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any AI agent platform can integrate with a venue in minutes. - Services included: onboarding and configuration consulting, plus interconnection with payment/settlement providers — matched trades clear on the client's rails; Synallax holds no custody. - Hosting: managed by Synallax by default. Private Enterprise installations are available for large partners with confidentiality requirements — their customers keep full external access to the venue. ## Who it's for - Brand operators selling their OWN perishable inventory through a private white-label venue: airlines (seats, load factor), hotel groups and resorts (rooms, occupancy), cinemas / events / entertainment venues (tickets, showtimes), car rental and mobility fleets (vehicles, utilization), freight and logistics operators (capacity, empty legs), retail and consumer brands (excess stock — anonymous bids allow discounting without violating MAP / minimum-advertised-price rules). - In this model the brand is the only seller; the venue is embedded in its own channels, public prices stay untouched, and the book only fires when the brand accepts a bid. - Durable-goods markets, where the book's second superpower is PATIENCE rather than expiry: dealers, classifieds platforms, and auction houses (used cars, machines, collectibles) and real estate / rentals. A firm bid can rest for weeks or months; the buyer's AI agent maintains it and captures the moment a seller accepts — replacing the manual vigil of checking listing sites daily. - Marketplace operators building a multi-seller marketplace for an entire industry vertical run on the same engine. - Agent builders whose AI agents search, bid, and trade on any Synallax venue through the open API and MCP server. ## Why it exists - The order book runs on two clocks: the expiry clock (perishable inventory that must fill before it is worth zero) and the patience clock (firm bids on durable goods that rest for weeks or months until the right seller appears). AI agents make both practical for ordinary buyers. - Perishable inventory is priced as if it never expires, so surplus is destroyed instead of sold. A firm bid above marginal cost beats an empty room. - Human bidding (e.g. Priceline "name your own price") faded because it was stressful. AI agents manage many resting bids effortlessly, which makes buyer-side price discovery finally practical. - The agentic-commerce stack (ACP, UCP, AP2, MCP) standardizes discovery and checkout against posted prices, but no one owns the venue where agents negotiate. Synallax is that layer. ## Regulatory position - Synallax venues are NOT securities or commodities exchanges and require no financial-market license: regulation follows the instrument traded, not the order-book mechanism. Venues trade real goods and services for physical delivery to end users — never securities, derivatives, or standardized cash-settled contracts. - Guardrails by design: trades settle only by delivering the product (no cash settlement of price differences); primary market only (no secondary speculation on concluded contracts); Synallax holds no client funds (settlement through licensed payment providers); and deal conclusion is always controlled by the venue operator — manual acceptance, RFQ answers, or seller-configured rules, never mandatory automatic execution by the platform. - Sector rules (consumer protection, travel, real-estate brokerage, auction rules, AML for high-value goods) remain with the venue operator exactly as in their existing sales channels. The platform ships compliance tooling: immutable event-sourced audit trails, replayable history, compliance reports, KYC/AML integration hooks. ## Key facts - Name: from the Greek "synallagma" — a contract of reciprocal obligations that binds both sides. - Tagline: The order book for the real economy. - Business model: subscription licensing of the engine (hosted SaaS by default, private enterprise installation for large partners), white-label throughout, plus onboarding/configuration consulting and payment interconnection. Synallax operates no marketplace of its own. - Status (2026): building; free early access for design partners. - Languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French. ## Build on Synallax (for AI agents) - An AI agent can create a complete, live marketplace (free plan) in minutes - account, typed product parameters, brand, inventory, seller prices, public storefront - with no human steps until the handoff. - Agent runbook (start here, verified against production): https://synallax.com/agents/synallax-agents.md - Full API reference (OpenAPI 3.1): https://synallax.com/agents/openapi.yaml - Human-facing starter page (the prompt to paste into any assistant): https://synallax.com/agents/ - API base: https://api.synallax.com/v1 - signup POST /v1/accounts {name, email} returns the bearer key; Idempotency-Key required on POST/PUT; the operator's e-mail owns everything (console sign-in by e-mail code at https://app.synallax.com); upgrading to a paid plan is always the human's decision. ## Links - Home: https://synallax.com/ - Manifesto ("The Silent Half of the Market"): https://synallax.com/manifesto/ - Platform capabilities: https://synallax.com/platform/ - Contact: contact@synallax.com - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/synallax/ - X: https://x.com/synallax
